This course is designed for shooters to develop a deep understanding of proper light deployment with both handheld and weapon-mounted lights. Students will learn not only how to run their lights effectively, but also how to integrate them into a performance-based framework that prioritizes speed, accuracy, and sound decision-making.

Light demonstrations with the industry’s top brands will also be conducted, giving students a firsthand comparison of gear capabilities and limitations. Topics covered include: strong-hand-only shooting, handheld light techniques, weapon-mounted light (WML) techniques, handheld-to-WML transitions, decision-making drills, using light as a control,, multiple target engagements, and more.

 Proper light selection, setup, and limitations will be thoroughly demonstrated and discussed. By the end of the course, students will have the confidence to select the right equipment and apply the appropriate lighting technique for various environments and situations to mitigate risk and reduce liability.

Although not a performance shooting course, this course will introduce and explore performance shooting concepts in low light conditions.

This course is taught by California POST certified pistol instructors Erik T., John G. and John E. All three instructors are also graduates of the Sig Sauer Academy low light instructor school. 

A detailed email will be sent out approximately one week before the course. The email will include all logistical details and important info regarding the course. 

 Course requirements:

-Duty pistol with weapon mounted light & duty belt

-At least three magazines

-Handheld flashlight (If you have multiple, please bring them)

-Spare batteries for WML and handheld lights

- 500 rounds of practice ammo

-Eye and ear protection

-Note taking material (if desired)
