Intro to Competition Pistol for Cops — March 9th, 2026 @ Corona PD (0700-1300 hours).

Intro to Competition Pistol for Cops is a practical guide to getting started in competitive shooting and using it as a tool to improve performance on demand. This course walks you through how to sign up for your first match, understand common USPSA rules, and navigate match etiquette with confidence. From there, we apply it on the range by shooting stages and stage planning each one together, breaking down movement, target engagement, and efficiency so shooters better understand how to run a stage effectively. Whether you have never shot a match or already have some experience, this course will help you get more out of competition and translate it directly to better performance behind the gun.

Participants will shoot multiple USPSA-style stages that challenge both speed and accuracy, with Hit Factor (HF) scoring.

Instruction on make ready procedures and efficient stage execution including movement, blending targets and stage planning will be provided. At the end of the course, you will have everything you need to shoot your first sanctioned USPSA event. 

It is highly recommended that you have attended a performance shooting course prior to attending this course.
