EPC x Blacklite Tactics Low light pistol **open enrollment** 3/15/25 @ R66 Shooting Park
Special joint low light pistol course featuring Erik from Elevated Performance Concepts and Matt from Blacklite Tactics. The course will be held at the Route 66 shooting Park in San Bernardino, CA from 4:30PM to approximately 11pm.
This course is designed to teach the shooter relevant low light pistol techniques. The course can be shot using either a range/duty belt or from concealment. Although not required, a weapon mounted light is highly recommended on your pistol. There will be a lengthy block on weapon mounted light shooting/transitions, so a WML would ensure you get the most out of the class.
Although not a performance course, this course will introduce and explore performance shootings concepts in low light conditions. This is not an entry level course -- student must have prior pistol training from a reputable instructor/school. Please email me to confirm eligibility.
Topics covered:
- Low light principles (Why we use light, when to use light, etc, lumens vs. candela, etc)
- Light demos with multiple different lights (15+ handheld and WML's)
- Strong hand only (SHO) shooting with an emphasis on performance
- Trigger control at speed
- Handheld light shooting techniques
- Weapon mounted light activation & shooting
- Handheld to WML transitions
- Oppositional lighting + decision making
- How to use light to "control" someone
- Hit factor scoring on a specified course of fire (movement drills)
- Reloads with a handheld/WML
- How lighting can affect your vision and how to mitigate it
Required equipment:
- Serviceable pistol with weapon mounted light (highly recommended but not mandatory)
- Duty/range belt with mag pouches and holster (CCW holster/mag pouches OK)
- Minimum of 3 magazines (5 recommended)
- Handheld light (bring multiple if you have them)
- 500 rounds of practice ammo

While working as a close protection specialist he also was an instructor at a well known EP academy where he found his love for instructing the ever changing techniques of performance shooting. Matt began competing and training heavily with some of the best instructors in the industry in order to further his skillset. Through different testing and real world application, he focused on creating curriculums that were rooted in efficiency, proficiency, confidence and effectiveness. These curriculums ultimately led him to create what is now known as, Blacklite Tactics.
